Free and Pro — what's different

A Free account gives you a real font of your handwriting, not a demo. Your letters at an even size and weight, spaced evenly, in a proper font file that works everywhere fonts work. It carries no watermark and never expires.

Everything you write is kept on every account. The difference is what your font file uses.

The seven differences

- The proof. After a build, the proof reads your font character by character and shows the ones to check, in real words. A Free account sees how many it found; the notes and the room are part of Pro. What the proof does. - Forms of each letter. A Free account's font uses your ★ version of each letter every time. A Pro font varies it, drawing on several of the ways you wrote it, so repeats differ the way they do on paper. Your a's: versions of a letter. - Your joins. Where your pen doesn't lift between letters, that is a join. A Free account's font leaves them out; a Pro font uses them wherever those letters meet. - Spacing. A Free account's font spaces letters evenly, like type. A Pro font fits each pair the way your hand does, and sets word spacing from your writing's rhythm. - Accents, symbols and smart quotes. Write them any time, on any account. A Free account's font uses the everyday set: letters, digits and basic punctuation. A Pro font includes the rest. - The web file and the ink image. Every account downloads the font file, which installs on Windows and Mac. Pro adds the web file for your own website and the ink image, a picture of a line of your writing. - Fonts. A Free account keeps one font and one saved version of it. Pro keeps as many as you make. When a Pro month ends, nothing is deleted: one font stays open, the others rest until another month. When your Pro month ends.

Commercial use

A Free account's font is for personal use. A Pro font may be used commercially. Using your font commercially.

Seeing the difference

Make a font on a Free account, then look at it. The difference shows most in cursive or connected hands, and in repeated letters: words like "letters" or "coffee", where the same letter appears twice.
