Saved versions

A font you make is a working font — it reflects your hand as it stands right now, and it changes as you keep writing.

Saving a version freezes that exact state and keeps it, so a font you liked stays available even after you have changed things.

Why you would

• You have something good, and you are about to experiment.
• You want to compare two states — before and after rewriting your e.
• You are about to add a lot of letters and want a way back.

Name them for yourself

The name is the whole value of a version list. "First try", "rounder a's", "after redoing the capitals" tell you what you are looking at. A list of dates does not.

Versions and downloads are different things

• A version lives in your account. It is a state you can return to and download again.
• A downloaded font file is on your computer, installed and in use.

Downloading does not save a version, and saving a version does not install anything. If you want both, do both.

How many you can keep

Depends on your plan — current terms are on the pricing page. If you are at the limit, delete one you no longer want.

They survive a change of plan

A version you saved stays yours, and a font you downloaded keeps working whatever happens to your subscription. What happens to your fonts if you cancel.

Installing two versions at once

Each version carries its own name, so installing a new one does not overwrite the old. Both appear in the font list — pick the newest, or keep both deliberately. I installed it but an app can't see it.
