A font cannot hold pen flow

The real one. When you write, every letter is shaped by the one before it, continuously. A font places fixed shapes side by side. Your joins and several forms of each letter get much closer than most handwriting fonts, and it is still a font. What Inkling does — and what it can't.

PowerPoint doesn't show the joins

Your letters and spacing come through; the kerning, the joins and the variation between repeated letters don't. Every version, every platform. Not a setting. Use an image for slides. More.

Android has no system-wide font install

A limit of Android rather than of your font. Write on Android, install on a computer. More.

Latin alphabet only

Letters, numbers, punctuation and common accents. No Greek, Cyrillic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic or Hebrew, and no emoji. Some letters are missing.

We are faithful, not flattering

Inkling reproduces your handwriting. It does not tidy it, straighten it, or make it prettier. If your letters lean, the font leans. Most people want this, and it surprises some. My font doesn't feel like my hand.

Google Docs cannot use your font

Its font list is Google Fonts only, and there is no way to upload your own — on a personal account or through Workspace. Send a PDF or an image instead. More.

Handwriting you have the right to use

You should only make a font from handwriting that is yours, or that you have permission to use. We cannot check this, so it rests on you.
