Where your font works

Your font is an ordinary font file. Install it and it appears alongside the fonts that came with your computer, in any app that offers a font list. A few apps offer none, and one — Google Docs — takes no uploaded fonts at all.

Works fully

Your letters, your joins, your versions of a letter and your spacing all come through in:

- Microsoft Word, on a recent font and a current version of Word — details - Browsers — anything on the web - Design tools — Adobe apps, Affinity, Figma, Canva - Print — what you see is what comes off the printer - Apple apps — Pages, Keynote, Notes

Shows less

- PowerPoint shows your letters and spacing, but not the kerning, the joins or the variation between repeated letters — in any version, on any platform. It's a limit in PowerPoint rather than something we can fix from our side. For slides, use an image. More - Google Docs cannot use your font at all — its font list is Google Fonts only, with no way to upload your own. Send a PDF or an image instead. More - Very old software — anything predating about 2013 may ignore the smart features while still showing your letters properly.

Free and Pro render differently

A Free font contains your letters and your spacing, and that's what it shows everywhere. The joins, the variation between repeated letters and the kerning are part of Pro, so on a Free font there's nothing extra for an app to display. See Free and Pro.

If a font is missing from an app

Usually the app was open when you installed and needs restarting. See I installed it but an app can't see it.
