Installing on iPad

iOS and iPadOS can use your font, but they won't install a font file on their own. You need a free font-installer app from the App Store. This is Apple's design rather than a limit of your font.

Step by step

1. Download your font in Safari. It saves to the Files app, usually in Downloads. 2. Install any font installer from the App Store — several free ones exist; any will do. 3. Open it, and point it at the font file in Files. 4. It will ask permission to install a profile. Allow it. 5. Go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management and confirm the profile. 6. Your font now appears in the font picker in Pages, Keynote, Notes, Procreate and other apps that offer font choice.

Where it shows up

Apps with a proper font picker — Pages, Keynote, Notes, Procreate, Affinity, Canva — will list your font under the name you gave it. Some apps have no font picker at all, and can't use any custom font.

It doesn't cross devices

Installing on your iPad doesn't install on your Mac or iPhone. Repeat the steps on each device, or see Installing on Mac.

Writing on iPad, using elsewhere

Plenty of people write their font on an iPad with a Pencil, then install it on a computer for actual use. Your font lives in your account, so download it again from any device you sign in on.

If the profile won't confirm

Check Settings → General → VPN & Device Management for a pending profile. If it isn't there, the download may not have completed — download again in Safari and check the Files app before retrying.
