The font is yours
What you may do with a font you made — the answer is generous, because it's your handwriting.
This License covers any font file ("Font") Inkling generates for you. It supplements the Terms of Service.
1. Ownership
You own the handwriting you provide and the Font generated from it. Inkling claims no ownership of either — this License doesn't grant you rights to your own Font so much as confirm them, and set the few limits in §3.
2. What you may do with your Font
- Install it on your own devices — as many as you like.
- Use it personally — notes, cards, journals, art, gifts.
- Use it commercially, on plans that include commercial use (§4): logos, client work, marketing, products for sale, merchandise, print — with no seat counts, no pageview caps, and no per-title fees.
- Embed it in documents, images, PDFs, and video you create. On plans with web export, use the WOFF2 on your own sites.
3. What you may not do
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or give away the Font file itself as a standalone product. (Using it inside your own designs and products is exactly what it's for — see §2.)
- Upload it to font marketplaces, or bundle it in software in a way that lets others extract and reuse the file.
- Claim the font-generation service or technology as your own.
- Use a Font built from handwriting you had no right to use (Terms §4) — such a Font carries no rights under this License, and the consequences are yours.
4. Plans
- Free — personal use. Commercial use requires Pro.
- Pro — everything above: commercial use and web export (WOFF2). The Studio beta includes everything in Pro.
Which plan a Font carries is set when you download it — and a download is forever (§6). What counts as commercial, in plain words →
5. No warranty on rendering
Fonts are standard OpenType files rendered by software we don't control, and applications differ in which features they honor — some Office apps ignore certain OpenType features entirely. We tune for the apps people actually use and tell you where the edges are, but the Font is provided "as is."
6. Term
This License lasts as long as you lawfully possess the Font. It survives the end of a paid month, a downgrade, and even deleting your account — fonts you already downloaded stay yours to use, with the rights of the plan they were made on. Nothing you shipped in your work is ever retroactively revoked.
7. Changes & contact
If we update this License, changes apply to Fonts generated afterward — they never narrow your rights to Fonts you already downloaded. Questions: [email protected].
