The download didn't work

Check it did not land quietly

Most browsers save without announcing it. Look in your Downloads folder — on a phone or tablet, in the Files app under Downloads.

The file is named after your font, so search for the name you gave it rather than for "Inkling".

It downloaded but will not open

On iPhone or iPad, tapping a font file does nothing on its own. iOS cannot install a font without a font-installer app — that is Apple's design, not a fault in the file. Installing on iPad.

On Windows or Mac, if double-clicking does nothing, the file may not have finished downloading. Download it again and compare the size; a partial file is noticeably small. Windows · Mac

The download was blocked

Some browsers and workplace networks block font files. If you are on a managed or work device, that is the likeliest cause.

  • Try a different browser.
  • Try a personal device and email the file to yourself.
  • Check whether the browser is showing a blocked-download notice.

Nothing happens when you press download

  • Turn off pop-up or download blockers for the site and try again.
  • Reload the page and make the font again — a stale session can leave the button inert.
  • Try another browser. If it works there, the first browser blocked it.

Your font is not lost

A font file is generated from your writing, which is stored in your account. If a download goes wrong you can make the font again and download as many times as you like, at no cost. Getting your font file.
